Creative co-working studio in Portsmouth: Port 57

You may have seen it on Albert Road, almost opposite the Kings Theatre. It’s a pretty big studio, with a shining beacon of a sign above it, and it’s called Port 57 Studio. They’re sponsoring the Portsmouth Freelancers Meet Summer BBQ so we wanted to tell you all a bit about them.
Port 57 is a co-working studio where you can rent a desk permanently or semi-permanently (desks are £200 a month), and it’s currently occupied by 16 different freelancers and small agencies who mainly work in various sectors of the media industry. They have web designers, graphic designers, film makers, app developers, a social media company, an architect, large format printing, and a charity.
It opened in 2011 as Bonzo Studio, which was a hot desking and art space, and has since developed into a real creative hub of local talent.
I’m based there myself, running Portsmouth Freelancers Meet and my own agency Starboard Media, and have been there 2 years. It’s a really great place to work, where you can collaborate with other creatives and developers, as well as socialise.
As a matter of fact I actually met a lot of the current residents at PF Meet, including it’s owner Karl March.
Best thing to do is get in touch with the studio via their Facebook page and see what’s available!
