PF Meet – by Robb Lewis

The first time I went to PF Meet was the summer BBQ and quiz in July of this year. I had wanted to attend PF Meet for a long time, but something always got in the way, be it work, university or just generally being busy. Since the summer BBQ, I make sure I’ve got time to go.

I had no idea what to expect when I went to my first PF Meet. I got there really early (I’ve got a thing about never being late), was greeted by Jo and introduced to the rest of the Starboard Media and Bonzo team. They were friendly and I felt relaxed almost instantly. Before long, other people started to arrive. Everyone got stuck into the BBQ that had been laid on, and then onto the quiz. Up until this point, everyone had been fairly reserved and polite. As soon as the quiz started, that was it; heckling, jokes and general tomfoolery reigned.

And that’s what PF Meet feels like. Just a chance to catch up with friends and meet new ones. Had it not been for PF Meet, I would never have got to know and become friends with so many like minded people, all of whom have been indispensable with guidance about careers, placements, general web development as well as advice about what to expect from my degree.

Jo does an excellent job of organising the event and I’m looking forward to attending PF Meet for the forseeable future.
